Public Health Emergency Preparedness (PHEP)

Grant County Health is responsible for the development and implementation of a comprehensive emergency distribution program for Grant County. The Health Department partners with the Kansas Department of Health and Environment Bureau of Public Health Preparedness (BPHP), the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), and the Southwest Kansas Health Initiative (SWKHI) to ensure Grant County is prepared to handle emergency operations in time of crisis.

About the Program

Public Health Emergency Preparedness (PHEP) provides the tools to protect the health of Grant County residents with the main focus being preventing, detecting, reporting, investigating, controlling, and recovering from human illness related to chemical, biological, and radiological agents, and naturally occurring human health threats. The Health Department hosts yearly exercises to evaluate performance and identify areas for improvement.
