Grant County was awarded a grant to upgrade the Jet A Fueling System at the Ulysses Airport by the Kansas Department of Transportation/Aviation Division.
The County Commissioners and Airport Board are proud to announce on February 26th Grant County started a project to remove an underground fuel tank and replace it with an above ground Jet A Self Serve Fuel Facility. The total grant dollars allotted by KDOT/Aviation Division was $549,730.00. Grant County signed contracts with KDOT to cost share at 90% KDOT/10% County.
The project became necessary after the underground fueling system was showing signs of age and deterioration. The tank was removed and the Kansas Department of Health and Environment released the site for the upgraded system.
After the project is fully completed Grant County welcomes visitors to stop by the Airport for a completed project view of tax dollars at work from the State and County.
