Grant County Local Emergency Planning Committee Minutes

 

Al Baker called the meeting to order at 11:32 AM with eight members present, Al Baker, Jerry Jo Deckert, Richard Everett, Kristy Frazee, Frank Goldsby, Joe Leibbrandt, Nahum Manzano and Janet Thomeczek.

 

Frank Goldsby made a motion to accept the minutes to the last meeting.  Motion Seconded by Kristy Frazee.   Motion carried.

 

Comprehensive Resource Management & Credentialing System is available and the group discussed what information will be on the cards. We hope to start making ID cards for the departments in January.

 

The group discussed the Kansas Preparedness Conference on December 1, 2, and 3 at Webster Conference Center in Salina.  If anyone wants to attend please contact Vivian Button. There is no charge for the conference.

 

We looked at the draft agenda for the Kansas Local Emergency Planning Committee Conference April 3-5, 2012 in Salina. The conference is open to all LEPC members who wish to attend.

 

The Final Draft of the Kansas Planning Standards has been completed. Starting in January we will start revising the Local County Emergency Operations Plan.

 

We discussed that we are going to be tasked (required) to do a Complete County Capability Assessment to continue receiving grant funding.  It has to be completed next year.

 

A motion was made by Janet Thomeczek that the next LEPC meeting be held on January 19, 2012.  Jerry Jo Deckert seconded the motion.  Motion carried.

 

Nahum Manzano informed the group that BP has their gathering system up for sale.  This includes the Hugoton fields and areas to Amarillo.

 

Richard Everett informed the group that there is going to be two Foreign Animal Disease exercises held in Hamilton and Stevens counties.  These exercises will include the hospitals.

 

Janet Thomeczek stated there was not much going on at the hospital at this time.

 

Kristy Frazee stated that the Health Department has been busy with the Flu Vaccination.  They also will begin having new hours in the upcoming year.  They will be open Monday through Thursday.  On Mondays they will be open from 8AM to 6PM.  Tuesday through Thursday they will be open from 8 AM to 5PM.

 

Jerry Jo Deckert informed the group that EMS was very busy with transition training for all EMS service personnel.  JJ also said they would be looking at what information they would be considering for the Resource Management & Credentialing System.  The transitional training will continue next year for the advanced EMTs.

 

Frank Goldsby said basically not much going on at this time.

 

Joe Leibbrandt from Extension Office informed the group they have a lot going on.  The 4-H enrollment is way up this year.  On the agriculture side he stated it has been a hard year due to the drought and low water levels.  The Extension Office will be hosting a Master Gardner Training from February 8th through the end of March 2012.

 

Al Baker entertained the motion for adjournment.  Motion was made by Jerry Deckert and seconded by Kristy Frazee.   Motion carried.  Meeting adjourned at 12:30 PM.
