Minutes
Don Button called the meeting to order at 11:35 AM. These
present were Frank Goldsby, Nahum Manzano, Janet Thomeczek, Bonnie Deiter,
Richard Everett, Kristy Frazee, Cathy Hernandez, Vivian Button, Don Button and
Deb Brown from Haskell County.
Janet made a motion to accept the minutes to the last
meeting with one correction, change classed to classes on paragraph seven.. Motion
Seconded by Nahum. Motion carried.
Don talked about the Comprehensive Resource Management
& Credentialing System that the regional council has purchased for the
counties. Grant County hosted classes on the system October 17 and 19. This
system will make identification and tracking easier. The state is still
working on how to identify everyone that is involved in several organizations.
The Kansas Emergency Management Association Conference on
September 13 thru the 15 was attended by almost 300 participants and had good
training on some of the new requirements coming down the system.
The county needed to conduct a Training and Exercise
Planning Workshop so we held it at the LEPC meeting and received input from the
group on what issues concern Grant County, what our capabilities are and what
capabilities we need to work on and what areas are our priorities to work on.
Kristy stated the Health Department is dispensing out Flu
shots.
Cathy talked about the upcoming LEPC Conference in April
2012 and the Kansas Preparedness Conference on December 1, 2, and 3rd.
Don also talked about the Ulysses Animal Control officer
trying to get a Southwest Kansas Animal Response Team started.
The next meeting date November 17, 2011.
Janet made a motion to adjourn and Kristy seconded. Meeting
adjourned at 1:00 PM.
