in the paper. We have met most of the requirement except the public notice and
sending all agendas and minutes to the Commission on Emergency Planning and
Response.
The Kansas Emergency Management Association Conference will
be September 13 to 16 in Topeka, Kansas.
We discuss the changes to the Emergency Management Performance
Grant requirements. We have to have some additional training and more
exercises. This starts now, we have to meet the requirements before we receive
the grant funds for this year.
The group would like the ICS 300 class be on a
Monday-Tuesday or a Thursday-Friday.
Carolyn Henry from Garden City Area Chapter of American Red
Cross stated the Garden City Area Chapter has increased to include 33 counties
in their support area. This includes most of the western part of the state. Red
Cross closed 9 offices in Kansas and has decreased their employees by 20. They
no longer have a Health and Safety person in Garden City. They are going to
try and conduct Disaster classed this fall.
