The Board of County Commissioners met in special session at 9:00 am with all members and the County Clerk present.
The meeting was called to adopt a resolution to refinance the Series 2011 General Obligation Refunding Bonds for the Care Home. The acceptance of the resolution would save the county taxpayers $85,295.25 over the duration of the bond. Marty Long made the motion to accept Resolution 11-05, a Resolution authorizing the issuance and delivery of $4,435,000 principal amount of General Obligation Refunding Bonds, Series 2011, of Grant County, Kansas, for the purpose of providing funds to refund certain outstanding general obligation bonds of the County; prescribing the form and details of said bonds and authorizing the execution of an escrow trust agreement by and between the County and Security Bank of Kansas City, Kansas City, Kansas, all pursuant to K.S.A. 10-427 et seq. and Article 1 of Chapter 10 of the Kansas Statutes Annotated, all as amended. Carl Higgs seconded the motion and it passed unanimously.
The commissioners viewed the options for the Purchasing Agent Office. Randy McCauley and Lance Babcock discussed their design for a divider wall in the mailroom of the courthouse. It was the consensus of the commissioners to have Mr. McCauley and Mr. Babcock build the room divider wall in the mailroom.
The commissioners adjourned to meet again in regular session on May 3, 2011.
