DONALD BUTTON, COORDINATOR

Minutes LEPC Meeting November 21, 2002

The meeting was called to order by Don Button at 7:10 PM with twelve members present and one guest.

Don Button                 Vivian Button             Ben Oliver                  Tom Kramer

Richard Banes          Frank Goldsby           Wayne Russett          Jeff Baier

Bill Powers                 John Crosby              Steve Sawyer            George Bushnell

Mike Day with Kansas Gas Service gave short program about his company.

The Animal Disease Threat Workshop was discussed.  Approximately 90 people from the surrounding areas attended the workshop.  This included veterinarians, feedlot employees, sheriff departments, health departments, emergency management and others. The State is developing a plan on how to handle animal diseases.  It is a lot better than what they had six months ago.

We did not receive the GIS grant.  However, they did send us Arc View 8 and some other things to get us started.  This is from the ESRI Company.

Don went to the Weapons of Mass Destruction/Unified Command Class in Garden City, November 12 to the 15.  The class had not included an exercise dealing with agriculture, so the last day they added agriculture to their program.

The Hazard Analysis was looked over and discussed.

Steve Sawyer announced that starting in December the EPA is going to inspect all Anhydrous Ammonia plants.

The December meeting was discussed and it was decided we would not meet again until January 16, 2003.
