Meeting Minutes for October 17,
2002
Hazard Analysis is coming along very
well. It should be done by
November.

Each department needs to look at their
part of the Local Emergency Operation Plan and update anything that needs to be
changes. Such as equipment, personnel or
policy changes that have been made in the last year.
Don went to Emmitsburg, Maryland and took the
ICS Train the Trainer Training.
48 people from around the state
attended the ICS/EOC Interface training..
Defensive Driving (Classroom) Course was
attended by 43 county/city employees.
John and Terri Crosby and Don and
Vivian Button attended the KEMA Conference September 18 to the 20th,
2002 in Manhattan, Kansas. Discussion
of some of the training provided.
Mitigation 20/20 program from the state
need a task force from Emergency Services, Public Officials, industry and the
public. This program looks at how to prevent or reduce damages from major
incidents or disaster. If interested please contact 620-356-4430.
Talked about DOJ Grant and some of the
equipment we are receiving.
Emergency
Management will participate in the Kids Safety Fair on October 26 from 9 to 12
Disaster
exercise committee met after the LEPC meeting.
On October
28, 2002, 2:00 PM the National
Guard will be here to talk about how they can assist and their Scout Program.
Talked about the
Dodge City Disaster Exercise which was about Animal Disease.
The
Next meeting will be November 21, 2002 at 7:00
PM
in the basement of the Grant County Courthouse.
A representative from the Kansas Gas Service will present a short
program on Natural Gas and possibly a representative from the State to discuss
our local emergency plan and the roles and responsibilities of the LEPC.
