The Board of County Commissioners met in special session at 9:00 a.m. as a Board of Canvassers to canvass the results of the Primary Election held on August 1, 2006. They met at 10:30 a.m. to make a final review of 2007 budget requests. All commissioners and the county clerk were present. Auditor, Steve Rice, attended the budget review portion of the meeting.

 

            No discrepancies were found in the tallies made at the original canvas done election night. After processing provisional ballots, the final totals did not change the outcome of any race or question. Totals are recorded in the Abstract of Votes Cast Journal in the office of the county clerk.

 

            Final budget review was done. A list of budget requests and approved budgets is attached as part of this record.

 

            Carl Higgs made the motion to adopt Resolution No. 06-06 expressing the property taxation policy of the commissioners with respect to financing the 2007 budget. Marty Long seconded the motion and it passed unanimously.

 

            The commissioners adjourned to meet again in regular session on August 15, 2006.
