Owned by Grant County, the airport is managed by Steve Rice of North Star Aviation. The County Commissioners appoint a five-person board to oversee the facility.
The board studies all phases of the present and future operation, expansion, planning, and management of the airport and makes appropriate recommendations to the County Commissioners. Board members are Kevin Moyer, Ed Neidert, Paul Mitchell, Sheila Brown and Luke Grimes.
The Ulysses Airport is located one mile north of Ulysses on Highway 25. The terminal / waiting lounge was relocated in 1999 through a federal grant. The Airport Board continues to actively work on projects with the Federal Aviation Administration and Kansas Department of Transportation Aviation Division. Any suggestions for improvement are always welcomed by the County Commissioners and/or Airport Board.
