Point of Distribution Exercise (POD)
The Grant County Health Department Staff performed the POD exercise with the help of:
  • Emergency Management Coordinator Don Button
  • Southwest Kansas Health Initiative Coordinator Richard Everett
  • Emergency Medical Service Director Jerry Jo Deckert
  • Terry Crosby and Dave Harbour (Paramedics)
  • Pioneer Electric Executive Secretary Judy Parsons
  • Pioneer Electric Communications Specialist Rae Gorman
  • Sheriff Lance Babcock
  • RN Volunteer Sharon Phelps
  • Janet Thomeczek, RN
  • Bob Wilson Memorial Grant County Hospital

These volunteers all joined together to test the ability of health department staff and volunteers in setting up, securing the area, responding to the special needs of patients, operating, completing and then breaking down a point of distribution site. The Pioneer Electric employees needing vaccines were the participants. The exercise was a success with everyone completing all the tasks assigned.
