The Board
of County Commissioners met in special session at 3:00 p.m. in the
Commissioners’ Room at the courthouse with all members and the County Clerk
present.
The meeting was called in order to
review estimates for remodeling or building a facility for the Extension
Service.
Darl
Henson, Extension Agent, and Keri Liddeke, 4-H Agent, presented estimates for
remodeling the 4-H Building and the Commercial Building at the fairgrounds.
They also presented estimates for construction of a new building.
After reviewing the estimates, all
present except the clerk went to view a building that was discussed as a
temporary place for the Extension Service until a permanent facility is done.
When the commissioners returned, the decision was made to temporarily relocate
Extension to the 4-H Building or, if practical, the part of the Commercial
Building that isn’t being remodeled.
The decision was made to remodel
the Commercial Building as a permanent site for the Extension Service. This
decision was made to save taxpayers money by making use of an existing county
building that is not being fully utilized at this time.
Mr. Henson will give his floor plan
sketch to Bob Forsen and request that he develop plans and specifications to
submit to contractors for bidding separate components of the project. Frank
Goldsby, Public Works Administrator, is the county’s general contractor who
will oversee the project.
The
Commissioners adjourned to meet again in regular session on May 4, 2004.
