                                                             MEETING MINUTES

                                                                  August 10, 2012


MEMBERS PRESENT: Chairman Darrin Figgins, Vice-Chairman, Cecil Simpson, and Members Kathy Olson and Ronald Craft.




STAFF PRESENT: Sexton Robert Brown and Secretary Paula Shapland




Chairman Darrin Figgins called the meeting to order in the Conference of the Grant County Court House at 12:00 noon.


Darrin Figgins called the meeting to order.  Cecil Simpson moved, Ronald Craft seconded, that the minutes of July 13, 2012 be approved.  Carried unanimously. 


2013 Budget Hearing.  Chairman Figgins opened the budget hearing.  The proposed budget has been published as required and the mill levy was set at ½ mill.  Chairman Figgins commented that the ½ mill levied by the Cemetery District will result in about $5.00 a year on a $100,000 home.  Kathy Olson moved, Cecil Simpson seconded, that the budget be approved as published. Cecil Simpson moved, Ronald Craft seconded, that Resolution No. 2012-1 be approved.  The resolution is done each year to waiver the cemetery from GAAP.   


Restroom Building Project:  Darrin Figgins handed out the revised building plan from Fiss Architecture. The estimated cost is $151,000 for a 30 x 30 building with restrooms and meeting area.  Cecil Simpson presented a plan for a 30 x 40 Morton building and estimated cost $99,000.  Kathy Olson expressed concern about building more than just restrooms.  Cecil Simpson commented that he felt the building would be used a lot.  Chairman Figgins asked if additional public input was needed.
