Grant County Local Emergency Planning Committee Minutes

 

Don Button called the meeting to order at 11:35 AM. Members present were Al Baker, Don Button, Jerry J Deckert, Richard Everett, Roger Gardner, Frank Goldsby, Carolyn Henry, and Lynette Metcalf.

 

Al Baker made a motion to accept the minutes to the last meeting.  Motion Seconded by Jerry Deckert.   Motion carried.

 

The Grant County Multi Jurisdictional Mitigation Plan has been approved by the state. Now we need to have resolution passed by the county, city of Ulysses and the school district stated that we have an approved plan.

 

Since Kansas is looking to revise the Kansas Planning Standard for Emergency Operation Plans, we will wait on going over the Local Emergency Operation Plan.

 

Cathy Hernandez has been hired as the new regional coordinator.

 

The Foreign Animal Disease Plan was discussed.

 

The ?Vulnerable Needs Registry? was discussed.

 

Richard Everett stated the Point of Distribution Exercises went well.

 

Al Baker gave an update on the Community Emergency Response Team.

 

Carolyn Henry stated they are working on agreements with motels for disasters..

 

Lynette Metcalf stated the Health Department is looking for a new Administrator.

 

Roger Gardner stated Pioneer Communications is working on putting Fiber optics in the homes in Ulysses.

 

Jerry Deckert stated EMS will hold a Pre Hospital Trauma Life Support class March 26 and 27. She also stated they had over 700 ambulance responses last year.
