The Board of County Commissioners met in regular session at 9:30 a.m. with all members and the County Clerk present.
Marty Long made the motion to approve the minutes of the November 2 & 5, 2010 meetings, and the claims against the various funds of the county. Madison Traster seconded the motion, and it passed unanimously.
Randy McCauley, Road Department Administrator, requested approval to purchase a motor grader from Foley Tractor. Lengthy discussion was held on the county's valuation, mill levies, and equipment. Marty Long made the motion to purchase the Caterpillar road grader from Foley Tractor at a cost of $175,572.42, with a 5 yr guaranteed buyback of $149,000.00. Madison Traster seconded the motion, and it passed unanimously.
Tom Fuhrmann, Appraiser, met with the commissioners. Madison Traster made the motion to recess into executive session to discuss personnel matters involving non-elected personnel. Marty Long seconded the motion, and it passed unanimously. After 15 minutes the meeting continued in open session.
Jerry Jo Deckert, Emergency Medical Service Director, requested approval to renew the support contract for her billing software from Tritech at a cost of $2,513.77. The contract runs from 1/25/11 through 1/25/12. Madison Traster made the motion to approve renewing the support contract. Marty Long seconded the motion, and it passed unanimously.
J.D. Neufeld, Civic Center Manager, presented information on the total cost for repairing the restrooms. The total cost was $37,215.18. The commissioners commended Mr. Neufeld and his staff for the good job they did on the project.
Marty Long made the motion to accept the 2011 Grant County holiday calendar as presented, and the commissioner meeting calendar. Madison Traster seconded the motion, and it passed unanimously.
The commissioners adjourned to meet again in regular session on December 7, 2010.
