Grant County Local Emergency Planning Committee

Minutes

 

Don Button called the meeting to order at 12:02 PM.   Members present were Jeff Baier, Don Button, Jerry Jo Deckert, Richard Everett, Roger Gardner, Frank Goldsby, Danny Law, and Nahum Manzano.

 

Jerry Jo Deckert made a motion to accept the minutes to the last meeting as read.  Motion Seconded by Roger Gardner.   Motion carried.

 

The first Public Hearing for our updated Mitigation is at 10:00 AM on July 16. A copy of the plan is available at the Emergency Management office to review or we can give a website and password to view it on line.

 

Solid Waste Management Plan updates have been completed. The Public Hearing for this plan is July 27 at 10:00 AM.

Upcoming Training is a Radiological Awareness Training in Syracuse on August 4; Hands on Radio Training Friday July 16 at 6:00PM at the Fire Station, and Continuity of Operations (COOP) Training on Monday July 19 9:00AM at the Fire Station.

 

Jerry Jo Deckert wanted to know how many of the hospitals and dispatch centers in the other regions have 800 MHz radios.  Don said he would look into it and get a list.

 

The next Regional Council meeting is August 4th. The Mobile Incident Command Post that the region order has arrived and training on how to set it up was held last week.

The intern for the Regional Council?s Geographic Information System (GIS) project was in Ulysses the first week of July gathering information.  Some of the layers they are working on are City and County building, Health Care Facilities, Education facilities, Gathering places for large crowds, Agricultural Facilities and Chemical Facilities.

 

The next meeting will be August 19 at 12:00 Noon at the Grant County Courthouse Basement training room.

 

Motion to Adjourn was made by Roger Gardner.  Motion seconded by Frank Goldsby.

Time Adjourned was 12:40 PM.
