                The Board of County Commissioners met in regular session at 9:00 a.m. with all members and the county clerk present.

 

                The monthly department head meeting was held with the following in attendance: Lance Babcock, Sheriff; Randy McCauley, Road Department Administrator; Sheila Brown, Health Department Administrator; Rita Gee, Treasurer; Mary K. Sullivan, Register of Deeds; John Crosby, Fire Chief; J.D. Neufeld, Civic Center Manager; David Graber, Transfer Station Manager; and Don Button, Emergency Management Coordinator.

 

                Marty Long made a motion to approve the minutes of the April 20, 2010, meeting, and the claims against the various funds of the county. Madison Traster seconded the motion, and it passed unanimously.

 

                John Crosby, Fire Chief, reported that the repeater south of town isn't working. It was installed in the mid 1980's, and needs to be replaced. He presented quotes from Snyder Radio and Mobile Radio Service, Inc. to replace the equipment. Madison Traster made a motion to approve the low bid from Snyder Radio, in the amount of $8,250. Marty Long seconded the motion, and it passed unanimously.

 

                Sheila Brown, Health Department Administrator, met with the commissioners. At Mrs. Brown's request, Marty Long made a motion to recess into executive session for 15 minutes to discuss non-elected personnel. Madison Traster seconded the motion, and it passed unanimously. After 15 minutes, the meeting continued in open session. Marty Long made the motion to approve an $1.00 per hour increase for Toni Irvin, since she will start administering the Family Planning Program when Sharon Phelps retires. Madison Traster seconded the motion, and it passed unanimously. The commissioners took a tour of the health department.

 

                Marty Long made the motion to appoint Bob Ward to the Bob Wilson Memorial Grant County Hospital Board of Trustees pending his acceptance of the position. Madison Traster seconded the motion and it passed unanimously.

 

                The commissioners approved the library's request to have a 'Night Under the Stars' music concert on the north lawn of the courthouse August 12, 2010, at 7:00 p.m.

 

                Marty Long made a motion to adjourn at 11:45 a.m. Madison Traster seconded the motion, and it passed unanimously.
